I'd be more than happy with my tele and my princeton reverb
I'd also be just as happy with a 335 style... I would be selling some gear, because I'm going on 6 plus months of forced unemployment, but nobody with buy anything right now, even at very reasonable prices

I have one guitar and two amps, one of them is in the for sale section
If there is something I don’t use quite often I prefer to sell it, so I play my favorite guitar with my amp

I've done it. I went from owning 25 guitars to owning 3, an ES175, and 2 nylons. But yes, if your mind thinks it can't be done, then it can't be done...because you won't allow it to be done.

If you've only been playing/collecting for a relatively short time it's easier to part w stuff as opposed to maybe having owned them for 20-30 yrs.
That said there's a bunch I have earmarked to sell but have just been too lazy to take pics and run auctions.

The 20-30 years suggests an attachment to your guitar(s). The "too lazy to take pics" suggests an excuse, which in turn supports your attachment. Just saying'

Nah, I've only bought a couple in the last 5 yrs or so and sold that many in that time span and only because friends had dibs and it was easy peasy. The lazy part isn't an excuse it's the truth for me. When I'd buy one I'd always say I'm going to sell one to make some room but almost never got around to it strictly due to laziness and no pressing need.
There's really only about a 1/2 dozen that are untouchable and 1/2 of those are tools to make a living.
I never bought a ton of them in a few yr span...like some people I know.....

i do a lot on alternate tunings, need different sounds and textures for recording, play completely different sounding genres and cover several instruments, hence why I have "more than I need". But if I needed the bare minimum, it would be:

    - epiphone elitist Sheraton
    - yairi masterworks 60hd
    - Yamaha bb34p
    - vox ac15hw

That's severely limiting and hampers a lot of what I do, but it's possible, I guess. I could make records with that. I could use amp sims and vsts for all my sounds and effects, but I'd still need a decent e-drum set. By that logic, I could let the vox go, but I severely don't want to. And I could really use a second acoustic and electric to make this work, recording wise. But that's my answer to this horrid little thought exercise.

The hard part was balancing what I wish I had/what I truly want vs what I could do the most with, or get the most from.
