Anyone had any or experience of Dick Knight jazz guitars?

I dropped a fine guitar in my living room some years ago and Knight Guitars fixed the headstock crack brilliantly. Their customer service was also second to none.

Unfortunately, and I don't want to be malicious about this, but when I phoned Knight guitars and spoke to Dick's grandson, he was so off hand that I voted with my feet and went elsewhere. I recently spoke to a couple of luthiers who said that they had heard the same thing. Dick would not have been impressed, but then again he set very high standards and was most definitely old school. Can't comment on the quality of workmanship, but my experience wasn't confidence inspiring.
