is the GIbson ES 175s from 30 years ago thicker than the Ibanez GB 30??

Usually depth is the rim depth. Another measurement is maximum depth.
One other measurement that is often left out is guitar volume. You pour quart or liter jars of water into the f hole until it's completely full.

Actually the depth of the LGB300 puzzles me a lot. I believe it should be not more than 80mm at the rims.
I would appreciate if anyone could verify that!

yes but i think they changed the reference of the depth (rim depth vs maximum depth)
Ibanez PM100 specs said 3.15" deep which is the rim depth (i know because i have one)
PM200 (same body as LGB300) says Max Depth 4 1/4" which obviously can't be the rim depth because it will be way too large i think.
go to 05:42 at this video below. the guys mesure the rims 80mm (3.15").
so i guess the depth between the two models is identical (and the maximum for Ibanez hollowbody ?).
but unfortunately i can't verify it myself.
es-175 seems to be a little deeper but i can't check that
