Is it touching the body?
-
looks more like it got smashed down to me.
Why is it not basically flat across the top in the back on your pic?
I think it's a bit of a mess, but hey if it still works . . .
-
It looks to me like it's beginning to pull loose, bicbw. What brand/model is it from?
-
I'd bend it back for sure.
-
be careful with that..you don't want the metal edge cutting into the tops finish (or beyond)...i'd change it...tailpieces are fairly cheap and plentiful
cheers
-
bending it back will just weaken the metal more, take NA's advice and just get a new one, it's not like investing in a Super 400 t.p.
-
it’s a replacement TP
sorry don’t know the make
probably a cheap one
as the guit is an Ibanez af81
ans was £250 used
it is contacting the top yes
hmmm
i’ll keep an eye on it ....
its just the guitar i practice on
round the house so maybe
I’ll leave it for a while
till i change the strings probably
as i say it keeps pitch fine
-
That's what happens to guys that use .015 strings.....

So is this just me guys ?
do your Tailpieces not look like this ?
weird that the same thing happened to
both my guitars
both Ibanez tho and I know they've had issues
with tailpieces breaking
mine aren't fracturing tho just bending ...
im still wondering what they should look like when new
can you send a picture
-
I just installed a WD trapeze tailpiece on my Framus thinline, let me send you a pic tonight when I'm home.
