    I had hard times with my SFPR for the same reasons. It makes me wonder, why PR is so loved amp here, I had to try dozens of speakers and do the mid pot mod before it was ok with jazz box.

    Before You sell Yours (like I did) try this: lower the pu but rise the pole screws. It decreases the overall bass but retains the hot signal which now sounds a bit brighter (because of the decreased lows).

    Chris Whiteman I believe is using a LiL King that is producing 20 watts. I think it runs 6L6 but not quite a LiL King S specs.I have really liked the sound on any clip that uses the Headstrong amp for Jazz. I have not heard one in person. I think he uses the stokes mod and his own iron. Wish I knew exactly...
