What brand and gauge do you use for the electric L5 version?
!!!!!No other guitars, just L5 Ces ,Wes,Ct!!!!So please be on topic.
If you have another model please don’t vote.
Specify your string gauge, or if you are using other brands.Last edited by archtopdream63; 11-30-2019 at 02:16 PM.

thomastik benson flats, 14s. I recently tried changing it up a bit with thomastic swing 13s then John Pearse rounds but have circled back round to the thomastik benson flats. They just seem to make my L5 Wesmo sound its "best"...to me.

I have two L-5's (WESMO and a CES). I used to use TI Swing 13's, but a couple of years ago I switched to TI Swing 12's due to finger discomfort. On the next string change I will be going to TI Swing 11's for the same reason. I am glad that there is a TI Swing 10 set, one day I may need them. So long as I am able to play, the L-5's ain't going anywhere!

ps. always liked the thom js 11's as well...close to the old classic (now gone) d'aquisto 11's that jim hall used!! but softer!

Well... that about says it all. Nice Vin.
I think my L5 Wes will have TI Jazz Swing 13’s.
I didn’t like 13’s until I put them on the Campellone. Now I wonder why I’ve been a sissy all these years..

I use TI JS 13s. Love ‘em on mine.

I use 12-14-18 Elixir single strings in combination with 30-40-50 D Addario chromes on my L5CT. A bit odd combination I do not like the wound 3rd

Thomastik Benson flats, 14s.

I’m still using from ages 13 17 23 31 41 52.
Newtone signature set. Amazing strings, perfect for my L5 Ces.
-
any other strings experiment with the L5?
-
for ages i used regular TI Swing JS13 sets on my L5 CES, about a couple of years ago i started replacing the high e with a .014 Elixir, when the b starts sounding weak i also replace it with an Elixir string (.017).

d’addario ej21 are surprisingly good too.

vinnyv1k - that's just pornographically beautiful! Do you sit up at nite and just stare at it ? I would.
Cool thread. I may have to try the TI's on my CES. Currently using Chromes. But first, I'm having an ebony bridge made, instead of the TOM. I'll keep both.
