    thomastik benson flats, 14s !!

I use them on my L5 and I would never try another string. One of my friends says they are too heavy and you need bionic fingers to play them. I'm very use to them and I even bend them a little bit once in a while.

send me a message if you want a tone demo, i have some recordings.

I absolutely prefer TI’s on my jazzboxes. 1) Their treble strings have a real tone to them, not just a tinny high-end plink. 2) Their wound strings are somewhat skinnier, which helps to keep the bass well-defined when playing through an amp. 3) This also makes them easier to play. 4) This also puts less tension on my ‘37 L7 without compromising the sound. 5) They last forever.

Ok; TI George Benson GR112 round wounds on a 2012 L5-CT. In the spirit of full disclosure, this guitar is new to me and I put these strings on when I did my initial inspect / clean / setup. I intended to put on flats but these felt right. They are fantastic on this guitar; a clean attack with great rolling sustain. Not picky or shrill. I don’t even get any noticeable finger squeak. I will eventually try flats on her but for now, these just rock.

My dear friend is a Rock n' Roller guy but very well off. He decided he needed a Wes and when he got it, he put some dental floss 9's on the poor thing. I gently suggested he try some TI JS 13's, I had a spare set and gave him a pack. A few days later I was out riding and got a text to come try it out. Here's a video he took-I had just gotten off my bike, it was a hot day. Keep in mind this is unplugged, I just walked in his living room.
    Big improvement!

For what i do, which is playing solo guitar fingerpicking Daddario J21 Roundwounds gives the bass notes the presence and sustain i need. Is not that we here in south america have much to choose really, we pick what is on the store, thomasticks can be found. I didnt tried everything really.

Surely, there should be no shortage of Magma strings?

I use flatwounds on all my gigging guitars - TI JS 13’s on my L5’s and similar guitars. I use TI JS 12’s on my ES-175. I love the sound, the feel and the long life of these strings.

I also use roundwounds on a couple guitars that I play around the house, often acoustically. On these guitars I have been using various brands of nickel roundwounds with a 12 on top. I like the Pyramid and Newtone strings with a round core, but they seem to be hard to get here in Canada, so I often end up using D’Addario EJ-21 instead.

If you like Newtone strings, just order direct from them. The only downside is paying the overseas shipping cost but the quality and price of the strings make it worth it for me.

I ordered from them 2 years ago and shipping was about $5. Not sure how they're able to ship so cheap.

Yes, but... do you find them at the same level than d'addarios?
