The Emerald X7 finally arrived. Some first photos of this pretty little guitar. More info later. Right now I'm playing it after a two month wait.
Edit: Here's a first test recording. It's probably a little dark but I think it sounds ok for a first try with a VERY different guitar.

Congrats, Jim! Can't wait to hear you play it!

That's what they're for.Right now I'm playing it after a two month wait.

Nice! I really like my Krivo HB. Mine looks a bit different than yours. It has two visible pole piece holes for each string. Seems like Krivo constantly is changing things with design

I think this may be a custom design for Emerald. They're offering them as an option on all of their guitars now.

I think Emerald came out with a dedicated jazz guitar after Jim ordered his.
Yep, the Kestrel model.
It costs significantly more than the X7 or X10 though.

I really like the blue and black color of the guitar. The other is red?

Does that have the Krivo AND a piezo/bridge pickup?
-
Yes, with independent volume controls and the tone control on the Krivo. It was the first tie they'd odne one that way but I expect to use the Krivo as the primary pickup so it made a lot more sense that way.

Jim, I think myself and others take for granted the relative speed we receive items in the US. I have been upset when something was delivered a DAY later than expected.
BTW I really like the blanket in your photographs.

I probably would have preferred the the depth of the original version but this one comes with that remarkable neck joint and that really is a game changer. Other than the depth it's a tiny guitar, somewhere between a travel guitar and a parlor acoustic. It has a 24" scale length and the neck meets the body at the 12th fret (which is what makes that neck joint and cutaway so great. It's easy to play chords all the way up to 16th fret). The body also has a right arm contour so all in all, it's pretty playable.
