Hi there!
This might sound a bit weird, but I am looking for a specific kind of guitar body.
It's a semi hollow body with double cutaway, where one cut is a bit lower than the other.
Examples:
Echopark Esperanto Z

Maton BB1200JH

Eastwood Savannah

For some reason, these guitars are right up my alley, aesthetically speaking.
I have no idea how to search for this type of guitar and I have no examples of it, other than the three I mentioned above. I hope someone knows of some examples of other manufacturers who make this type of body!
Thanks for reading, sorry for the weird request and have a good one!
Carl
To clarify: I'm mostly looking for an ES 335 type guitar that is slightly asymmetrical.Last edited by CarlvGent; 01-24-2019 at 08:00 PM.

Ibanez's first Pat Metheny sig models, PM100.

There ya go
nothing symmetrical bout this one

You need to search for an offset hollowbody. That will run you from say a Pagelli type shape, which is offset even though it’s a single cutaway, to the more explicit double cutaway styles. Some of my most favourite guitar shapes to look at - tres moderne!

Gibson Vegas

I like the shape, too!
Here are a couple (not mine, just pics!):
Koll (in Oregon)
Scero (in Colorado)

My Moffa Maryan:
My friend Tom Ollendorff has a double cutaway version:

Any interest in semis?

Peerless Bird of Prey, I can't remember what Gibson model is based on:

Thanks very much to everyone who wrote a reply! You've been a big help. I think I'll try to find a body shape like this on my next guitar! (When I can afford one!)

Two that spring to mind are Fret-King John Etheridge model (semi) and Wout Bosma (Netherlands luthier) Offset archtop model.

Of course Collings is not really double-cutaway, but a very cool shape.
-
Yep, that's the one. It's fully hollow ¿right?

Hmm, I vote "disgusting" on that one!

[and others may love it!]

Counter question: would you reject D'Angelico's "Teardrop" guitar?

Science says that most people favor a certain symmetry or balance in objects, faces, bodies. However, 100 percent symmetry is suspicious, looks artificial, fake-like. Most guitar players have learnt to suppress their symmetry pursuit in favor of a more functional, though asymmetrical guitar body.

My dad had a '73 or '74 Goldtop, it is a semi acoustic : there is a block.

I was in Wout Bosma's workshop in Dordrecht, NL, while I was in a need of a good quality guitar repair to have a fret work to be done to my Johnny Smith from 1966. I am saving up for D'Angelico New Yorker copy that Bosma could make me. I tried one made by him and without a blush, it was the best custom guitar I have ever tried. Not as costly as the vintage D'Angelicos, but the quality is every bit as good.
