Wow. Not what expected from the title. To be honest, that looks like something that is the worst of all worlds. An uncomfortable Tele that feeds back with a heavy and dull top that should sound dreadful as an acoustic. But I’m just looking at a picture. It may be awesome.

No thank you. I've already had a tele with a somewhat acoustic character. And lost it (long story). A partscaster with a heavily chambered ash body, thin spruce top. I couldn't see inside, but could feel from the light weight and from tapping that the chambering was significant. Plugged in, up loud enough, it would feedback if I was close enough to the amp and facing it. Tonally, it sounded unlike any other tele. The Don Mare p/us really helped. Not powerful. Low wind, so not huge volume. Best neck p/u tele sound I've heard yet. With a lively, acoustic sort of edge. Stayed together even quite loud.
Marc Rutters told me he'll make a body like that. IMO, that's the way to go for an airy sounding tele.

No thanks. Stick with my D28.

And $USD 2,000
-
They already did the Telecoustic some years ago (do they still make it?) that looked a lot better imho....
-
Two years on the price of a probable retail failure experiment? 50? 80% off? That might be fun. Love to try one.

My guess is, if I wait a year and a half, I'll be able to get one for $800.

And then there's Sadowsky's nylon take:
-
We never know what exactly, will take off or not. Don't you wish you had bought a few Super Champs, or BF Princeton Reverbs back when they were apppx. $300 or less? Or 50's LP's back in the 60's? and on and on and on.....
I wouldn't buy one of these Acoustisonic Teles on looks though. They may be great on stage, but can it sound like a Tele?
-
I like the looks of it, but the price puts it out of reach for me.
Competition for Godin.
-
Must be another pickup in it because of the selector switch. I don't see any way to adjust the single coil. I would never Buy one even at a cheaper price. I wish they would have made a Arch Top instead.
-
They only tried that once.

New name, new dials, no news, done before in Y2k ...

I think it is just difficult for such models to fly, like the Taylor T5. They end up being a compromise for both the acoustic and the electric timbre. Specially with how nowdays you can easily make an electric sound like an acoustic on a gig with pedals, if you need to fake it (like this guitar would)..
-
They were doing a stratacoustic back with the original telecoustic.

Kinda like the looks of it myself. However, I assumed they would be cheap. They are not.Last edited by invisible pink unicorn; 01-23-2019 at 11:57 AM.

This is more my idea of a hollow body tele:
-
Hm, actually sounds pretty cool, from the vid above looks like you can get a variey of tones.
-
I miss the neck pickup...
-
In the videos they look more like guitars costing a few hundred bucks than 2k ones..
-
from watching the video I didn't think it sounded very good unplugged. And at that price it should. also cant you get those other sounds by using a effects pedal.
-
The more I look at them, the more I like 'em. The sunburst, in particular. And the contour and natural mahogany back looks attractive, I actually don't think they look "cheap" at all.
Kinda wish there was a neck pickup you could blend...go after some Tim Miller type sounds. But maybe that's still possible with the options now...
I'll definitely try one out.
