We have active threads at the moment on Slaman guitars and the work of guitarist Miles Okazaki.
Okazaki is currently touring Europe with Mary Halvorson, performing John Zorn music. He posted some photos to his Instagram account on Sunday that will be of interest to those interested in Slaman guitars.
His Instagram account is well worth following - he regularly shares practice ideas and interesting materials.

That's a Deviser Seventy-seven Guitars Redwood top trapeze tailpiece Les Paul hollowbody Stork Jazz for comparison. Pop a Hunbucker CC in the neck and we are close enough to call it even stevens.
Love Daniel Slaman's work but Deviser Seventy-seven Guitars made this a few years ago so there's precedence. .

I'd be remiss not to mention Archtop Tribute:
-
That's kind of insulting to the endeavor (of the guitarist and builder) to just throw up a few slap dash ideas and say, "Just do this and be happy, eh?"
Having tried to tackle Miles's "Fundamentals of Guitar" I came away with the thought that I was attempting to focus entirety of my intellect through a keyhole in order to try to see a mountain. I'm not surprised he is particular about his custom instrument. Besides, if he was satisfied with close enough he would have stuck with his CC equiped Gibson. He's tried that already.

Slaman builds always amaze

The idea has been around for awhile:
-
There's also Roger Borys of Hoboken, NJ with the Jazz Solid. One could choose the pickup of one's desire. A TK Smith CC Blade or 6-pole looks and sounds the part.

My last visit at Daniel's workshop was in Jan 2017.
There I saw and tried these chambered Les Paul equipped with CC PU.
Not my cup of tea since I'm not a Les Paul afficionado.
Best.

Several vaguely similar guitars being shown here, but the Slaman is unique in its aesthetic and particular appointments. I think it is REALLY cool looking. I built a Warmoth chambered guitar a while back and equipped it with an ebony bridge, also riding atop the TOM posts like the first one pictured. That guitar sounded really great.

Cool guitar!

Cool guitar! Only thing I don't like is the "aged" finish.
-
When I saw this guitar on his Instagram page< i freaked out-
I'd been thinking about doing almost everything he had done.
"2018 Slaman “Pauletta”A custom made Les Paul style body guitar with Charlie Christian adjustable pickup, made by master luthier Daniel Slaman in the Netherlands. I requested this guitar in order to have an instrument with the Charlie Christian sound that I could travel with easily. Made with lightweight woods in order to produce a transparent, archtop-like tone. Spanish cedar body, flamed redwood 2 piece top, ebony fingerboard, honduras mahogany neck, black pearl inlay, rosewood carved bridge, handmade 250 style tailpiece, vintage Bakelite chickenhead knobs, aged blonde finish. "
Is there anyone doing similar work in the US that is not so expensive?
Thanks for your advice.
Can someone help me identify this song?
