My new Slaman guitar arrived in July - 3 months earlier than expected! Thankyou Daniel.
16" x 2 1/4" body, 1 3/4" nut, 24 3/4" scale, bearclaw sitka top, heavily quilted maple back and sides. SD staple P90.
Daniel carved the top to work with 11s (arthritis in hands) and it has a lovely acoustic tone, as well as the electric tone, which is clear and well defined. To say I'm thrilled is a bit of an understatement.
As my camera is defunct, can only post video and pics from Daniel currently.

Wow. that is one crazy quilted maple back. I am not one for quilted maple, in general, but I will make an exception for that one.

Enjoy it in good health, bananafist.

i'm generally not a quilt person, but when it stops being quilted and starts being that, i'm back on board. that's pretty neat. abstract.

and that staple sounds much warmer than i thought. a fair bit of acoustic-ness is coming through. not sure if it is a combination of the pickup and the acoustic sound in the room but it is nice. reminds me a bit of my byrdland, which is sort of thin and of similar construction.

That's quite a guitar. The back is as quilted as a Heritage American Eagle! The overall beauty of the guitar is obvious.

Going for a "350" in a thinner depth body is a _very_ valid choice. Shortening the scale to the ES-175 and width of the lower bout/upper bout to the ES-175 dimensions is a nice choice--if you are uncomfortable with a 17" guitar.

The sonics are obviously good, as the clip attests.

    Enjoy the Slaman!

Wow that is one hell of a guitar, gorgeous looks and the sound is brilliant and if I am right it will sound even better in your hands. Hope to meet you both before the year is out when I may have my next one advanced enough to show. Meanwhile, indulge.

Wow, that really is nice. The way the board on the backside was ripped and then glued together, you can actually see the outside and the inside of the bubble formation in the maple. I could stare at that all day long. Gorgeous guitar. Congratulations.

Nice guitar! Congratulations and enjoy it!

On the other hand, does anyone know what model is the other two guitars that are behind?

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Carlescountry - they are two Les Paul sized guitars Daniel builds with CC pickups - not to order, but as the mood takes him! I presume they are for sale, although I don't think they are listed on his website. He has vids of two on Y-tube. I'm trying hard not to be interested in them!

I love that the quilt is on the back and side with a very plain top. Very reminiscent of the way that Lloyd Loar did it on those classic Gibson mandolins. The tops were a simple two tone burst spruce but the backs were gorgeous shaded burst on heavily flamed or quilted maple. It didn't matter that the audience was never going to see the most beautiful part of the instrument. Both the player and the builder got the pleasure of knowing it was there.

Stunningly beautiful guitar with a sweet round tone. A fine instrument from a highly regarded European Luthier - do enjoy.

Congrats ! Really great sounding and gorgeous looking instrument. Not to say that the sound should open up and improve even more...yes it's possible ! The sound of my DS-250 has broken up after a couple of months of intensive playing.

    Best to you.
