Hmph. My P has a 34" scale. Make that Ps, plural, because I currently have four.

Which is probably a triple entendre.

Randy, go play your Heritage (hey, this is getting to be fun!).

Dammit! (stomps around the room, terrifying the cat). If only Weber had sent the right cabinet and I hadn't had to return it, I'd -- I'd (whimper) have (openly sobbing) a fifteen TOO!

Oh it's so much fun listening to you guys rant and rave. I'm a poverty stricken old-guy struggling to learn to play the blues. I've had my own pop-groups through the years and I've always liked Fenders (called 'seven enders' by humorous players here in Sweden) because you have to work to get what you want from them. I have (and recommend to newbies with limited finances) a custard coloured 'Squire' tele (shame on me) made in Indonesia (more shame) with a fairly high action and I love it. And no I never ever use the bridge mic.

LOL, well the two of them are still in the front hallway where the UPS guy put them. I should at least unpack them and make sure that they aren't damaged !

I've already decided to give one of them away - just need to pick the proper one as the gift.

I love Roy Buchanan's playing. His tone on Nancy really fit what he was doing, but he could dial it down as well:

Ipdeluxe, thanx. If my translation is correct ("patience, and shuffle") that is funny on at least 3 levels.
Give up the guitar and play solitude instead.
Take it easy and shuffle the cards. (A philosophic reflection on life).
Relax and (blues) shuffle. Have a good one. :-)

Oh no, wumbulu, you're not going to fit in with our lot. You are encouraging questionable behavior from one that revels in it.

(This is the correct interpretation - not literal, but the intent, I believe is as follows):

"Please sell me a six-pack of Pacifico Claro, out the back door after we've loaded up".

The quoted passage comes from an episode in which Don Quijote visits his elderly cousin. The cousin is playing solitaire, accompanied by a servant who stands at his elbow with a flask of wine, from which he periodically fills the old man's glass. The good Don launches into one of his delusional recitations of an encounter he had with an enchanted princess, in which, at the end, he rips her still-beating heart out of her chest.

The cousin, not looking up from his cards, says "I say, 'patience -- and shuffle the cards.'"

My asian custom (what does that mean?) tele has Duncan Designed mics and I think the neck mic sounds real sweet. I have a friend though who has an American tele that just screams all the time. I hate that sound. Is the tele thin-line hollow bodied? What is a broadcaster?

The shrill sound from the bridge "mic" (pickup, in our parlance) is what we, or at least, I, have been discussing. The "thin-line" is a semi-hollow body.

The "Broadcaster" was the original name for the Telecaster. Gretsch asked Fender to re-name the guitar because they were selling a line of drums that they called "Broadkaster." Fender complied, and Don Randall modified the name to "Telecaster."

And in addition to Bill Frissel and Ed Bickert, let's not forget Lorne Lofsky, Ted Green, Mike Stern (quieter moments), and any number of jazz tele players. Heck, even Brent Mason and Brad Paisley can get downright jazzy when the mood hits.

Here's a great vid of the late Ted Greene playing Autumn Leaves solo on a tele.
