I'm considering ordering one. Seems like the ultimate travel guitar and axe for someone traveling and with an old back!

I have a couple concerns about maximum string guage. I'd want to run .012-.050 on it but not sure it'll accommodate that. I'm guessing .011-.048 wouldn't be a problem and that would probably work for me.
Assuming it comes out the way I think it would, I'd ditch my Ibanez S5521Q after receiving it. I think it's about a 3-4 month wait.
I know a lot of folks think they're ugly but I dig it so I'm not interested in comments about its appearance.
If I order one, it'll be with a chambered mahogany body, flamed maple top, maple/mahogany 5pc neck, ebony fingerboard with a thin neck profile. Similar to Tim Miller's...

Check out the elec-acous version. Very cool concept.

I'm also interested in a Zeus (all though the upper half of the body looks like almost a dead ringer for our Single 15"). I spoke with them this morning about the options and there are more neck profiles available that are not listen on the website. One option is an .85 to .95 C shape for a $120 up charge. If I order one it would definitely be with that neck carve.
And just to illustrate my pint about the resemblance ...

They use the Hipshot Headless bridge and if my memory serves me the largest gauge the 6 string Hipshot bridge will accept is .52.
-
i asked on their facebook page if they'd consider a version with pickups and offset sound-hole but didn't hear back.

The problem I have (myself) with these guitars is the very small body, specifically the lower bout under the arm. If you look at the vid, the player's forearm contact is very low, nearly at the wrist, and forces the wrist into a funny extreme angle. For my own right hand technique, which is loose and unanchored, it really limits my right arm/hand movement, as if my entire arm is being locked in place down to the wrist. The only hand movement can come from the wrist. I had to finally give up on the Parker Fly because of that, as much as I tried to make it work, because I loved everything else about that guitar.
These are just my opinions about my ergonomics. They very well might fit you just fine.
Jim - I believe the Zeus is much smaller than your 15, a width that is very comfortable (the 15 that is).Last edited by Woody Sound; 06-29-2018 at 01:44 PM.

They look like quality instruments, but I am not a headless guy. The main reason is that tuning at the bridge can be much more difficult (if not impossible) because of the lack of leverage you get with the tuning pegs. I built a Steinberger copy that I am going to sell because, unless I were to string it up with 8's or 9's, I won't come close to standard tuning. I would imagine that the Kiesel designs are completely worked out, but there is a lot to be said about the conventional design.

When I spoke with them yesterday, I asked about the acoustic model but with no sound hole and a neck humbucker. They told me they had had several similar requests but it was something that didn't interest them. I'd also like a 22 fret version but despite all of their options, everything they do is based on a lot of CNC and keeping certain factors constant, the 24 fret arrangement being one of them (and in fairness, it is a fairly complex change). I was surprised to hear about what they now call the double-thick neck profile. They weren't even offering that when I spoke to them last year and changing the neck profile is one of the easiest options. (Although since I only asked about the Zeus, it may only be available on the bolt-on guitars).

But we're planning to travel for two to three months a year after we settle in Guadalajara and I want a quality travel guitar. Kiesel has $29 international shipping and I think the Zeus would be really good for travel. I'm also going to be getting a DV Mark Little Jazz from the Mexican distributor shortly after we arrive. (For which I paid an absurdly high Mexican price).

(I'm also not sure if the fat neck profile is non-standard or not. It was something they offered when I asked about a bigger neck profile)

body size doesn't bother me. I had a holdsworth HH2 for a while and it took a couple weeks to get comfortable with it and it was fine other than the club neck which i hated.

When I was looking at buying my first headless, I looked at Kiesel and unfortunately they didn't offer the nut width that I need or other options I needed. Which is why I ended up with Chris Forshage. Chris takes a lot longer than 3 months but hopefully next month I'm getting the guitar I specified.
But from my search of the various guitars Kiesel sells and their forum discussions. This is what I gathered.
Standard .792" thick @ 1st fret, .890" thick @ 12th fret
Thin: .75" @ 1st Fret,.850 @ 12th Fret
Holdsworth:.82" thick@1st fret and .94"@the 12th fret/

My Kissel CT 624 I love but I am eyeing the Zeus

FYI, the Zeus Acoustic build page is up:
ZA6 KIESEL ZEUS HEADLESS ACOUSTIC ELECTRIC GUITAR | KieselGuitars.com
(Click on "Guitar Builder" for standard options.)

can you imagine how cool that ZA6 would be with an offset soundhole and optional humbuckers??? I wish they were receptive...I'm still probably going to order a zeus at some point though I just got my Ibanez S5521Q back from the shop. It has tone master pickups. They are head and shoulders better than the stock dimarzio and the guitar just sounds killer. That's why I'll probably spec out the Zeus to basically be the same materials as the ibanez but with the smaller body it should be way more portable. I'm guessing I'll put tone master pickups in it too.
Anyone know what the pickup coil combinations are with the Kiesel 5 way? My ibanez has:
1) Neck series
2) Neck Parallel
3) Neck/Bridge Parallel
4) inner coils of 2 pickups parallel
5) Bridge series

You can ask @kungfugrip here, he owns one.
I own a Keisel CT-624, but it not a headless model.

You could probably fit a thin floating pickup at the end of the neck and wire it up the way you want.
