Marcis,
Congatulations on your new purchase! For me, the feeling is like Christmas as a child all over again; the anticipation and then getting it, oh boy!
Now post some pictures damn it!

Congrats!

I stopped by their showroom in Brooklyn last week. Those are some sweet instruments! For me it was between the Semi-hollow and the Jimmy Bruno. In my mind the Semi won because of its feel and versatility. My only problem was finding the cash to seal the deal. Some day.

That's my dream guitar! Only problem is, I'd have to sell every guitar I currently own to finance it! Congratulations!
-
That's wonderful! Congrats.

Congrats! It's probably the ultimate semi hollow guitar as far as many of us are concerned.Guess that Henriksen is next on the list?

Congratulations Marcis, I have been the proud owner of a "Jim Hall" model Sadowsky guitar for over a year now. It is without a doubt the very best guitar I have ever had. I have owned several Gibsons and a great old D'Angelico (1929) and a couple of Fenders and many other lesser known guitars but my Sadowsky is truly the best (and most beautiful). It has a great jazz tone, doesn't feed back and the neck is perfect for my small hands. I started using the Sadowsky flatwound strings at the time I bought the guitar and I recommend them because they seem to outlast any other strings I have used over the past few years. I hope you enjoy your Sadowsky as much as I enjoy mine!

Congrats!!! That's awesome. Usually those guitars are not generally available, even at the Sadowsky shop.
As the proud owner of a Jim Hall Sadowsky (Just about the perfect jazz box), you may want to check out a Henriksen amp as well. The Jim Hall and the Henriksen is an incredible combination. Jim Hall himself is not b.s.ing when he talks about that amp being the "perfect amp for him". Recently, I saw Bobby Broom using that amp as well (different gutiar--Hofner)
Although given that the Semi-Hollow is in fact a semi hollow, with an exquisite center block and 2nd pickup, you may want to check it out with a good tube amp, like Fender Twin or Deluxe Reverb. The youtube videos of Kurt Rosenwinkel with a Sadowsky Semi show him using a Twin, I think.
Again, enjoy your Sadowsky, from a fellow Sadowsky owner. Cheers!

Hey NSJ, I am saving my gig money to pay for a replacement amp for my Polytone mini-brute IV ( 31 years old with a 15" speaker).. I haven't yet tried a Henriksen but have been giving serious thought to an Acoustic Image Clarus 2 with a Raezer's Edge Stealth 12 ER speaker enclosure. I guess maybe I should try the Henriksen also. Do you have a model recommendation?

I have the Convertible, which is the Head and the cab. Actually, this is the model I have:

Marcis, congratulations for the Sadowsky semi hollow. We would like to see pictures!!!
Wizard3739, I have the AI Clarus 2R with Raezer's Edge 12ER and the sound is great, great with an archtop or a semihollow. It's an excellent combination!!!Last edited by carlescountry; 10-18-2009 at 12:22 PM.

Henriksen recommendation:
Get the Convertible or the 112 Combo (which I have and love).
The only (sometimes) negative comments I've ever encountered pertain to the 110 Combo.

that sounds like an opportunity rather than a problem

This thread got me intrigued on the Sadowsky semi-hollow. I found this youtube clip yesterday that had, IMHO, "the tone!" It's also pretty cool that the player is showing his pedal board.
-
Marcis, I have a Fender Blues Deluxe and it sounds great with the sadowsky.I also use a hendriksen jazz amp, which I love. It's more a polytone kind of tone. The polytone in the clip belongs to the club, where I was playing.
The hendriksen is great for jazz but not as versatile as the fender. But most times I play the hendriksen( I play mainly jazz) because it is so handy.( I use the convertible).
best , Chris

Thanke you, jazzgtrl4 ! The prs hollowbody are nice guitars . I know a guy who sounds great on it!
best, Chris

This is Leonardo Amuedo. Fantastic player who used to live in Amsterdam while I was studying there. I think he lives in Brazil now. He is playing with Ivans Lins!
