Good Roundwound Strings?

Regarding the wound/unwound G.. I just realised I put Fender 57/62 pickups in this guitar, which have the vintage pole heights (G is quite high, b and e very low). Should I be using a wound G? I never considered this

On my Strats I used to turn all the pups 180 degrees so that the short polepieces were under the low E and A. Some routing-out of the body may be needed and will affect resale value. IIRC, I picked this up from a Jerry Donahue interview. He referenced Hendrix, which was good enough for me.

Also, always wipe your strings and fretboard.

I like D'Addario strings a lot. I use them pretty exclusively for roundwounds. Usually EXL115.
