Yes, but does it work?

After switching to an AX8 from a II I thought I'd never be interested in a rack unit again, but I was wrong. The new controllers look very interesting too.

I did the same thing. I'm on the waiting list but I'm really hoping for an AX8-II

Reading the Axe III forum at Fractal shows this thing has a ton of interesting new features. I especially like that all the programming, including the foot controllers can be done from the Axe. I used to hate making changes to the MFC-101.
Four amp channels instantly switchable seems intriguing too.

Ironic we use all that technology to recreate a tube circuit tone developed in the 1950's!

More like 220 different tube circuit tones.

I sure can see the fun in exploring all of it's possibilities, but I'm pretty happy with the Quilter Clean Tone. So due to it's portability for gigs and consistancy in tone, Im set for the next couple of years,LOL!

What tubes does it take?
-
How do we know it is good? Who has tried it?
I'll be looking forward to JZ's videos if he gets one.
-
we know it's good because the II is the best modeler on the planet and it's based on the II but with waaaaaaaaaay more horsepower so it's able to do stuff the ii could only dream about. I'm on the waiting list but I doubt I'll buy one. I'm very happy with the AX8 and I've already got enough gear.

A very interesting piece of equipment, although sheer overkill for the vast majority of this forum's members.

WHAT? Jaz haz enough gear?! Who are you and what have you done with Jack Zucker? Scully, Mulder, get in here. We've got a job for you.

Sorry, but I didn't hear anything at all on that video that I liked, even a little bit.

ok, but i've owned the original axefx 1, axefx 2, ax8 and i trust their engineering. So yes, technically we don't know but previous performance is the best indicator in this case.
