My bad. Thanks for the correction.

Thanks, Lawson. My guess is that one could EQ those amps to sound very, very similar.

Since I prefer 12" speakers to 8" quite a lot and had a PT MB-II at one point, I think I should listen to the Jazz 12 version of these amps.

Another thing to consider when comparing these amps is that the Little Jazz is ported, to the rear. Whatever is behind the amp, and how far it is away, can change the sound a lot. The way Lawson has it placed, close to the wall, may not be ideal for all cases, although it might be in this case. Moving it just a few inches closer, or further away, from the wall can make a very big difference. I find that what sounds best to me isn't always the same. I tend to experiment with distance, angle, etc until I find what sounds best in that location. If the amp has no rear port location doesn't make a big difference, but with a rear port it does. I'm not in love with the rear port, but I don't know of a better design. There isn't room for effective front ports, and I wouldn't want the box to be any larger.

Coincidentally, just last night I found I preferred the tone of mine pulled a couple feet off of the back wall rather than a couple inches.

Good point-I noticed it was ported but didn't think about proximity to the wall. It's on a tilt-stand, maybe 8" from the wall. I'll have to move it a bit and see what happens.

    Thanks for the note!
