The pick up is mounted to the finger rest. The vol. and tone are mounted to the neck extension.

The finger rest has threaded studs embedded in it to mount the pick up with several nuts. All the wires are soldered. Everything is easy to reverse. The thumbwheels are held in place with strong double sided mounting tape. If you don't want a finger rest you could mount the pick up to the neck as there are two threaded brass inserts on the treble side of the neck for pick up mounting needs.
