It seems like every day a couple of folks on the forum announce the acquisition of a new (to them at least) archtop. Whether it's CME, or a discovery on Reverb, or wherever...

So seriously: how many NGDs have we had in the last few months?

And more importantly: Let's HEAR those new guitars sing! So many fine guitars are now in the eager hands of players, let their voices be heard!

Yea it would be nice to see some vids of the guitars in action, does not matter the level of playing the owner has achieved.

I'd love to hear Big Mike's L-5P - that's one of the coolest guitars on this forum IMO.

L5 WesMo came home tonight and a very gently used Heritage Super Eagle is inbound. Posts will follow, but my playing isn't to the point where I'm comfortable posting a video. I really don't deserve these guitars, but can't resist.

Zero! As Santa says, I've been good - All year! That's the first year I've not purchased an archtop since becoming a member here....knock on Spruce!

I too added no new archtops to my stable this year. My last new archtop was back in June ‘016 (video inserted below in the spirit of the request). However, I did add a beautiful single 0 sized flat top and a Tele though... I have no new archtop plans to arrive until 2019 at this point.

I snagged up a super-nice CME sunset burst 175 this month, but don't put on any expectations for videos.
I just don't do that. Not part of my game. Also, I don't text.

I haven’t had a new archtop in years and that won’t change anytime soon. But I have been practicing to record ... holiday project :-)

    Hey Mr Lawson-Stone,

I've scored two this year. A 1937 Gibson L50 converted into ES-150 by Daniel Slaman and an ES-350N from 1955 strictly original. They are very fine guitars, each in their own ways and for different kinds of music.

    Cheers.

Fred that's fantastic! You play with so much class, I just love listening to you. Love that L50CC too. I am playing around with a DeArmond Guitar Mike FHC on my L50 and I think it's going to work, but playing like yours... takes more than a new-old pickup!

Wonderful clip. Jimmy Bruno totally sets the standard for the "kitchen table" test in this clip.

Thanks lawson. That's a Tascam Gt1 guitartrainer. You can plug in your guitar and play along with a CD. And that's what I did there: played along with a backing track - guitar is direct and from there into the ZOOM video recorder.

I am prone to the occasional case of GAS, but I feel the same. I've got a guitar to cover just about any playing need I might have.

I remember having said that already in 1982 - don't ask what I have bought since then....

Congratulations djelley! Wrong. You really do deserve those two iconic guitars. Don't even think otherwise. And many if not most here are simply in the learning phase. No shame in that. Better now than never!
