I tried one when they first came out and wasn't crazy about the fender clean model they had but it had potential. Now they have an effects pedal size version.

Yes, I use the Bassman amp as a standard base, heavily tweaked to get rid of boominess, gain, shrillness etc. I then have about 10 pre-sets with a RedWirez EVM12L/SM57 IR at various distances, angles etc, 10 with a SM7, and 10 with a couple of the other mics. It's a bit of a scattergun approach, but I can usually whip through that lot to find a setting to suit most guitar/room combinations I need.

any clips?
-
Hi, I'm looking for the same, can you share your presets?
thks!!
-
Here's a rough and ready take I've just done with the Amplifire. ES175 with P90s and a BIAB backing.
-
thanks, that sounds great.
-
If you're looking for great presets check Mr. Britt's M Britt Profiles | Amplifire Pack. By far the more natural and balanced presets, also the best ones for live playing. I also use RedWirez EVM12L
-
thanks Miles. I have the redwirez from when i had the kemper. Will the same profiles work on the amplifire?
-
Here are the settings for that particular preset. I think the IR is EVM12L SM57 Cap Edge Off Axis 3inch.
-
thanks, i'm thinking about buying that new pedal they have. It runs on 200ma power which is important for my pedalboard rig.
-
Yes, I'm getting it as soon as it's available over here in the UK. Been waiting months now. I want it for the smaller size alone and the reverb knob is something I miss on the original Amplifire. I can get similar sounds from the Kemper but I generally only use that when I going through a pa. The Amplifire hasn't got independent main and monitor outputs.
-
i assume I can turn off the cabinet sims and use it as an overdrive/eq pedal?
-
Hi Miles, I've the MBritt pack, It's very good but I couldn't get good classic jazz sounds with it. I also have redwirez IR's, I'll try with the EVM12L.
thanks a lot for your response.
-
Bleakanddivine, thanks a lot for sharing your settings!! I'll try it as soon as I can.
I'm curious about why you didn't have upgraded to the last firmware.
Regards,
Chenko

Yes, you can turn on/off cabinet modeling on AUX and MAIN outputs independently.

Profiles I dont think so, if you mean IRs then yes, the RedWirez zip file should contain wav files that are the ones you should use with the Amplifire

The new Firebox represents a significant reduction in size. I can now carry my amp in my guitar case.
-
Was just looking at the Ampli - firebox as well for jazz gigs. cant beat the size. Has anyone have theirs yet?
-
Yes, I was using the red Amplifire before, have now switched to the new Firebox. It has exactly the same sounds as the 2 bigger versions, though you're limited to loading 9 pre-sets at once. Reverb and delay but no Wah, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, Chorus, etc. Its supposed limitations don't really apply to your standard guitar>cable>amp jazzer's requirements.

totally agree!... in general, new tech does a great job with distortion..the gainier the better..but for old tube compression clean-ish fender tone, they never quite nail it.. adding compression can help to emulate the pre amp tube getting hit with the guitar signal..but it's still tough to nail perfectly
