This was done with Trio pedal. The other guitar player would bang some chords int it and we'd try to catch up ..

It's been awhile since Digitech released the TRIO+ (nearly 2 years) and there's been no enhancements ... so I pinged the company to find out what's up and what to expect at Winter NAMM.
I learned that the Digitech facility in Utah was closed in May and that R&D (product management and design) and manufacturing are being consolidated by Samsung (the parent company). The team that created the TRIO+ and so many other pedals was let go this past summer. I'm not a Gear Page reader, so this caught me by surprise. I thought I would share the news with folks who, like me, have been using the TRIO+ and come to rely on it for practice or solo gigs.
I'm using it for both so I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago and put it in the closet in case mine fails and Samsung doesn't resume manufacturing.
Here's a link to the official announcement, which preceded the RIF by about one year.

Yikes! Time to lay in a backup Trio+, for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

So living, as I clearly do, under a rock, I just discovered this tool today from a Sweetwater email blast. I presumed it was a new toy until I checked out user comments online and what pops up but this thread. Seems like many of you like this one but do I get the impression that the company may not too invested in keeping this going? Anyone here have any updates? I suffer from exactly the condition AlsoRan mentioned above -- I read the description and watch the vids and am convinced this is the one toy I will use regularly! At $300 I keep wondering, since I either play unplugged or more into my laptop via an Audient with Garageband or IReal, am I getting a lot more here (the learning and adjustable backing function seems like it would be a blast and a little easier to adjust on the fly with a guitar and amp than trying to mess with a daw. But I could be just trying to sell myself on a purchase......

Great pedal. Much more convenient than working with a laptop.
Recommandations for Hollowbodies for $600 and under?
