Grote is also selling a blue 7 sting Les Paul copy for $199 shipped, with modern "F" holes. Just search eBay for "Grote".
There is a review on YouTube by someone in Canada who bought one; I can't get it to start at 5:20, so skip there yourself.
I believe the scale is 25". It feels like a Les Paul, just with a wider neck.

I agree...another thing is Guitar Player Magazine and others used to often advocate getting Pickups close to the strings to get the most out of them...

So some of these Shredder Guitars have high output pickups which can sound MUCH better further from the Strings...you may like it closer anyway..but start low..
I had an ES 347 which had oddly high output pickups for that type of Guitar ( wish I still had it )
but lower sounded really good -
Moving Pickups further from strings can improve definition and is not the same as turning down Volume ..
ALSO - a trick most Jazzers don't use..even on a Phatt ES 175 where you want fat single lines to sound full...THEN you want slightly crisper Chords and don't want to be limited in voicings to top 4 strings ..
You can have a Tech install a Push Pull Pot for a Parallel Switch on neck Humbucker and will be thinner and more defined on Chords..even 6 Note Voicings..
And a shredder 6 or 7 String could benefit even more from this...Last edited by Robertkoa; 07-15-2017 at 12:20 PM.

I just ordered that Grote. I still can't believe that's the name. Looks like it might be good. Probably will change out the pickups if it plays reasonably. Thanks!
