What kind of amp do you plug your 335 in ? May I suggest you look in that direction, too ?

    Hope that helps
Hi, 339, I haven't changed nuts or messed with pup height. This might be something that I need to look into before I get rid of the 335. And maybe I'll reinstall the 57s as well. The amp is 65 reissue twin

Can you take measures and tell me what's the p'ups height, from the base of the cover to the string, holding the string at the last fret, please? If you can take some detailed pictures it'll be even better.
Ok LtKojak, I'm out of town at the moment but will do my best to get measurements or pics so that you can see what I'm working with. But you guys have got me thinking that I need to get some work done on this 335 which may include a new pup set. Honestly I would rather get the 335 sounding the way I want it to instead buying another guitar.
I like a dark toned pickup that has a full beefy tone. What's the tonality of the seth love pickup?

But... I still want a 137. The descriptions of it that you guys have posted makes me feel like it would be perfect for what I'm looking for

I just purchased one used for $1000. I took it to my luthier and he did a set up for $50. I always wanted a sadowsky jazz guitar which runs about $5000 new or $3-4000 used. When I picked up my revamped dangelico exss, the luthier said .... why not let this gentleman try it? I said great. He played it and it was a concert...beautiful. He was in the navy band and was picking up a semi hollow Sadowsky blonde. He said mine was just as good...sounded and playing great. He said if it was made in USA, the same guitar would cost $10000. I don't know about the amount, but I'm sure it would be considerably more. I can not put mine down.i have 5 hollow/semi hollow arch tops and the exss is by far my favorite.
