Does anyone have any WHITE Fender 358 picks in either medium or heavy that they would be willing to part with for a fair price? I'm down to 4 of them that I've been using since the 80's and I'll be lost when these go. I know the shell probably sounds the same but I've been using white for so long I'm stuck on it, plus they're easier to find when you drop one on the bandstand. I have a good time telling the youngsters at GC and SA that I'm using guitar picks older than they are.

As another old guy who had suffered when these became extinct, I feel your pain and hence the discussion on quantity. For decades these were the *only* type I liked...

I may have a few. Let me check.

That would be greatly appreciated! If you can use these, I'll gladly trade you 6 for 4. I've got a few of these Dunlops if you can use them. I PM'd you my address - send me yours and I'll get them out tomorrow.

The "white" 358 was a different material, different feel than the tortiose color. Odd that no one has reproduced them, eh?
When I forget to remove them from my pants pocket, and they go thru the laundry, they get a squeaky clean feel that's even better! Like a toasted poker chip if they go thru the hot clothes drier too (not recommended.)

And there were two different versions of the white - one was opaque and the other was a tiny bit translucent.

I have very few of the full opaque, but here's a comparison pic with the less opaque version on the right.

I used to use the Fender 358's in white and the (also discontinued) abalone ones interchangeably. I have a couple of dozen of the abalone 358's in XH if you want them they're yours. PM me.

Have you tried the d'Andrea 358? Might be a close substitute in times of desperation.

I like the less opaque ones but I'm not picky...........BAD PUN!!!

Thanks for all the replies and offers!! I think with the ones John is sending and the ones I have, I'll be good to go. I ordered some D'Andrea 358, .73s today that should be a decent replacement, plus they're yellow and should be easy to find in the dark. Thanks again!!!!!!

Hey guys i I am a 358 freak as week - white heavy. I have some left form my stash of 30 years.
However - I am trying to get a pick maker - D'Andrea - to actually cost me out what it would take for them to do a run of 358 heavy white - It may be a very expensive proposition for me however - I i can get them to run a thousand or more even and it costs me maybe a grand - maybe they would have to run 5000 to make it worth their time - you think you guys would buy a gross or 2 and do you think I would be able to sell enough to get my money back?
I want to get 2 grosses or so out of it when it is all said and done so I would like to sell the rest. I'm thinking they won't run the production unless it is worth a thousand on their part? Not sure yet - still negotiating. I said to them please cost me out what the minimum would be for them do actually do it. The sales guy said they would only produce them if the order was the size of a fender order - what that means I have no idea. A gross is 144, How much would you all be interested in buying? if any? D'Andrea made the fender picks as I am told so these would be the real celluloid and the real cut.
What do you think?

I plan to find out! I have a contact at Seventy-seven Guitars. For a small order like picks I don't know if he would be able to help though. I may have to buy them through the Amazon JP reseller.

If you can get D'Andrea to do a run of white heavy 358's I'd by several gross. I use their tortoise colored 358's, but like you said, if you drop one there's a good chance you'll never see it again.

I'm resurrecting this because I was just put on a mission to find ONE Fender 358 heavy pick in white. I'll pay.
I'm also looking for unicorns.
It's a contest to see which I'll find first.
eBay, nada. Reverb, nada. Next to the pocket lint, nada.
So I ended up here. Just one. That's all I need.
Anyone? Bueller?
I jest but this is one of those things where if I find it I win major brownie points.
Thanks for reading!
