That's a beautiful guitar! I meant to reply to you sometime back since I am the original owner of a 1962 Guild Manhattan. May I ask what year is your model? Also, since your post, have you been able to resolve your dissatisfaction with the P-90's on the instrument? If not, I have some suggestions for you since I have faced the same dilemma over the last 50 years that you have expressed in your post. Love to hear back from you either way. Ed

Historically, the OP needed black P90's that match the pickguard. It will then sound much better and all will be fine.
