At this point of time I'd say my Les Paul Recording. It's the best sounding solid body guitar I have owned, but the jazz sound is easily on par with my archtops, possibly even better.
If you had to choose one guitar, what would it be?-lp-recording-jpg

From my stash it would be my 1966 Gibson L5 CES with Florentine cutaway. My ultimate would be an earlier L5 CES with original PAFs.

I've replied to threads like this and always paraphrase myself. TG I don't have to make that choice...

If the day ever came that a choice needs to be made it will be among these three. Tal Farlow, a 335, or 175.

Now if I could bargain it by VALUE, instead of a $2-3k Tal, I'd pick one each frankenplank tele and strat, Ibanez AS153 and AG86, Cort Triggs, Aria PE-175, Epi Joe Pass, and ES-135... and have change left over. :-)

Is that an original (guessing it is based on the bridge), or the 2013 reissue?

I'm waiting for the reissues to devalue more and then get one at some point. They get bashed for the different spec/tone/mojo, but I'm not seeing it in the prices yet. Too bad, because I think these are cool for what they are.

G&L Korina Blues Boy w/Duncan Phat Cat (P90). A veritable Swiss Army Knife of a guitar.

Gibson L-5C or Super-400C with a DeArmond floating pickup. Acoustic and electric situation covered. Give me two guitars and a Telecaster is added.

    That's a sad thing I'd say

    For electric: Tele.
    I have a modded 2003 Hiway 1 Triburst/maple... the next mod is a 1 3/4 " rosewood neck.

    For acoustic: Classical or flamenco.
Currently I have a Cervantes Flamenco cutaway actually made by Carlos Pena (Pina) He made 10 for Cervantes about 10 years ago.
    Mine is of that group.

If I had to choose between the two.. The acoustic.

I never thought I'd write this, but I think you need an 11th guitar.
