Been playing homemade guitars since the early 90's but decided to buy a real one. Pulled the trigger on a sweet butterscotch, pine bodied Classic Vibe Tele and I'm very pleased, even with the stock PUs and electronics. Got it from Sweetwater and it came in adjusted perfectly and in tune. For the moment, I don't think I'll change anything - I'll gig with it Tuesday night and see what happens. If you're looking for a Tele, these are hard to beat for under $400.
**UPDATE** Gigged with it last night and was very impressed. The gig was backup for local steel guitar club and the range of music was everything from standards to honky tonk with lots of western swing thrown in. I played through my Evans AE100 with a little delay from my trusty Behringer DR400 and everything performed flawlessly. The action out of the box was just fine but I lowered all the bridge screws exactly one turn and brought it down a touch. The neck pickup was pretty fat and worked well for softer things with the tone rolled off slightly. The bridge pu was just twangy enough to get that end of things done when needed. All in all an enjoyable evening. If you need a Tele, this is a great place to start and the quality can't be beat for the $$$. Change PUs if you feel the need, but I'm happy with them the way they are.

I have heard nothing but good things about those classic vibe telecasters. Congrats and I look forward to hearing what you think after the gig of you post about it.

Have one, love it! The neck shape is perfect for me. Only change I made is new Warmouth pickguard. Regardless of price just a great guitar.

They're great players, have fun with that one Skip!

Congrats.
I'm very intrigued by these but my 7.25 radius bias is getting in the way.

Got one too. Had it for a couple of years now and still can't believe the quality at the price point. Enjoy!

I have one too, it's a great guitar. I use it for funk, blues and rock stuff : it sounds good, plays well, and you don't need to upgrade anything. The build quality is very good too, I couldn't find a single flaw on mine.

If you have a bias against 7.25 radiuses, the CVs have 9.5 radiuses.

Nice guitar Skip. Could you give us an idea about her weight? Thanks and enjoy

I believe mine is right at 7-1/2 pounds - I picked the lightest one of the 4 they had in stock. There was just a few ounces difference as I recall.

had one for a year and loved it
take notice: the butterscotch has Alnico 5's while the the white has Alnico 3's
(I think 5's might be the more desired pickup)

You got a heavy one there. It depends on the wood and body style, My CV "52" re-issue is 7.5 lbs and the CV thinline is 5.5 lbs.
