Does anyone known with certainty what the fretwire size is for this guitar? Apparently, Peerless doesn't:
"Sorry, it seems I mis-read your email at the first time.
The size of fretwire we use on Peerless guitar is 2.9mm which we import from Japan. We do not use fretwire name with Dunlop or Jescar.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

If it is anything like my Peerless Monarch I would say medium jumbo-ish. About .11" wide by about .043" tall.
-
Thank you but the dimensions can only be compared meaningfully with reference to Dunlop, Jescar or some other measurement standard - i.e. Jescar 47100 or Dunlop 6130, etc.
-
Close to 6130 is my guess. Why do you need to know?

Thanks. I've seen this chart but it doesn't answer my question with respect to this particular guitar.

I appreciate that you repeated the question that I asked you. It's a jazz box and I would venture a guess that they are about the size that I told you. If you are really intent on splitting hairs buy a guitar that you can touch.
-
If I told you that I play medium-light strings, how much would you know? If I tell you that I play pure nickel, round core 11-15-20w-28w-38w-48w do you know more?
IMO fretwire size and material is not "splitting hairs". It makes a very substantial difference to the feel and playability of the neck.

If I told you to look at a guitar manufacturer's website and they describe their fret sizes as medium jumbo (without stating the measurement) would you buy one of their guitars?
-
Not without further information. That's why I'm asking here.
-
Why are you giving this guy such a hard time? He has a right to whatever information he needs to feel confident spending his money. He's not asking anything unreasonable. I don't understand why you are antagonizing him so much.

I gave him my best guess and tried to point out that there are lot's of manufacturers that just refer to their frets by name. BTW, I personally feel that describing a fret by naming it is much more helpful than describing a neck profile by name. A neck profile makes a very substantial difference to the feel and playability of the neck (in the OP's own words.)
Also, if you follow my threads you will know that I don't try to antagonize people. I tried to help the OP. Unfortunately the OP didn't perceive my input as help.

@lammie200: No problem here. It's probably just me. I may be self-delusional but I pay very close attention to specs like these and I think that I can feel the difference, be it fretwire size, individual string gauges and material, or whatever. Just as one small example, I can feel the difference in the gear ratio of tuning machines; generic vs. 1:18 of Sperzels or Gotoh is very noticeable to me. In fact, if I ever swap out tuners on any of my guitars, I would go for Gotoh 1:20 locking.
Interestingly, Eastman gives a very specific Jescar designation for their fretwire. I like that they pay attention to that detail.

I know you to be a helpful person, which is why I was so puzzled. He seems to know what he wants to find out, so my feeling is, if somebody has the answer, give it. Why he wants it is pretty much his business alone, unless it's clear he doesn't know what he's actually asking.

All good. I hope that the OP can find what they want. Also, I admit that I am picky about the same kinds of things concerning frets, tuners, profiles, etc. I even custom fit my golf clubs for length, weight, loft, lie, grips, etc.
-
Why do you do that ??

Sometime in one's desire to help or answer a question one doesn't fully understand or comprehend the question. I myself have been guilty of that as well. I included the fret size chart because given the info from Peerless you could find a comparable Dunlop size. Although looking at the dimension provided by Peerless it would seem to be too large. Below is a good fret size chart should you find the correct dimensions. I would suggest you contact Guitars N Jazz and ask them. They would probably give you a better answer. In addition, try contacting DocDosco who is a member of this forum, is a Peerless endorser and also sells Peerless guitars.

I assume that you are talking about the golf clubs? Same reason as tailoring my clothes. If they don't fit I look, or play, like sh*t.
