    I don't have the wampler anymore, i sold it because i bought the Tc nova system, now i'm back to pedals and zoom g3 but among the od/distorsion that i've had (a lot) the Wampler is still the best sounding that i've ever played, so sweet sounding.....

    I have a Free the Tone "Matt Schofield" overdrive. Performed with it last night for the first time, and although I didn't sound like Matt it is a nice pedal.

    I use a tubescreamer (TS-9 with an 808 mod) and an AnalogMan modded DynaComp (Ross Mod). Together with any decent tube amp, that'll give a nice thick chewy fusion sound.

    Check the Xotic line of pedals. BB Preamp, AC Booster, RC Booster - different gain levels.

    Also, Dumble-type pedals are good for fusion - Zendrive, Simble, The Dude, Van Weeden.

    Hermida Zendrive is great, as is the Mad Professor Simble for a thicker take on the D*mble thing than a Zendrive. The Ethos is king of the D$mble drives and has a great clean channel too.

    The Mesa Flux Five is an outstanding 2 channel drive pedal w/ 5 band eq for getting those iconic fusiony Boogie tones. The 2 channels are different levels of gain, but both driven. Very versatile pedal.

    Tubescreamer, or a GEQ set for boost into a tube amp.

    I recently purchased a Wampler "Ecstasy" overdrive(currently made with a different name, "euphoria"), which is the best overdrive pedal I've ever used. I am simply blown away by how great this pedal sounds into my DV Mark solid-state amplifier. I'm gonna bring it to work(music instrument store) and try it in a '68 Deluxe Reverb reissue and some other fun tube amps!

    I mostly do the Scofieldian approach and roll the tone off on the guitar, but given that the pedal has a 3-way switch for "Smooth", "open", and "crunch", I like to experiment. Cost aroun $200 new.

    Jetter makes some really nice dirtboxes as well, & I also have a Gain Stage Black on my board. It's the most dynamic & touch sensitive pedal I've ever had.
    I have tried several Dumble in a box type pedals, but I could never get any satisfying tones out of any of them. They all sounded muddy & dark to me.

    Excellent! I'd also throw in the sweet honey od together with the little green wonder - great! In the factory version they are more affordable too

    In reverse order of preference, here are my favorites...

    #4. White Face Rat Reissue;

    #3. Tube Screamer (any version...I can get 'that' tone);

    #2. Hermida Audio Zendrive (original) that has a permanent place on my board;

    & finally...

    #1. Heritage Victory amp! 22 watts of sweet clean tone...and when pushed, even sweeter overdrive!
