Add to this the experience of 25 years of building ~300 guitars along with his unique sense of design and you get a unique nexus of talents. I have played archtops by many renowned archtop luthiers and in my opinion Bill's guitars hold up sonically, artistically and in terms of craftsmanship with the very best of them. My two guitars from Bill are life time keepers for me...

I agree entirely - and I've owned them ALL.

Do enjoy them - just gorgeous.

And it does have a sweet amplified tone, but it was too close in tonality to many of my other luthier made arch tops so,sadly, there was little sense in keeping it. Fortunately, I am running out of room for new guitars in my studio, and I will have to suffer with my current collection, LOL.

I used the JS112's as opposed to the GB's because they are a tad brighter, but I guess it is worth a go with the GB's.

Enjoy the guitar—it's a beauty—as I am certain you will.
Just out of curiosity, what other archtops survived the cut??

I put the GBs on earlier tonight. It will take a couple of days to settle in, but I like what I am hearing already.

    iim7v7IM7,
I would have "liked" your two Comins archtops, but someone seems to have stolen the prompt at the bottom of the page. The back of your Classic has some of the best flame I have ever seen.

Thanks, I remember selecting the set at Bill's shop on his bench.... Here is what the billet looked like.

    Hi Kid,
Glad the GB's are working for you.
As for my collection, I realize that it is commonplace for members to post their various guitar assets, but I am extremely security conscious and would prefer to avoid providing would be intruders with a shopping list. Suffice it to say that my daily arch top rotation takes a little more than 3 weeks to complete. Sorry for the paranoia, but with all of the hacking that is going on anything is possible. That said, my choice of the Comins should provide some insight into the quality of the collection, all of which meet or exceed same.
