I wonder about those 190CC's. never played one [actually never even seen one in person] but I have to wonder if they have the same magic as the Gibson bar pickups w/their cobalt magnets etc...

I wonder, too. I have never seen one in the "flesh." I have only seen the PE-190 with the DeArmond 1100--like the one that 2beornot2bop owned. Here is a partial catalog shot from the Aria Catalog from about 1977 (enticing):
