I am not belittling anyone that likes the clip-ons, but I have not warmed up to them. Picking up stray noises is one thing but I not crazy about the whole idea of clipping something on that detracts from the pure aesthetics of the instrument. Just looks odd to me.

I never had problems with stray noises, but probably this is partly due to the fact that i never play in loud bands.

I just hate to run my signal through another unnecessary circuit in the chain, thus risking to degrade the signal, even if the loss of sound would minimal.

And: In my belief it's not the clip-on tuners which ruin the aesthetics, but the guys who are too lazy to take it off after tuning!

I guess that hits the nail on the head for me.

The Peteson Stroboclip is readable in sunlight and dimly lit situations as well.
