They have a "Blackface/Plexi" tone switch. See Award-Session's site for details.

Schematically the tonestack follows the classic Fender layout (member of a Dutch forum reversed engineerd a schematic), which - depending on the values of the resistors, pots and caps - can be either identical to Bassman 5F6x/early Marshalls or Blackface/Sliverface. I haven't checked the component values of the Bluesbaby yet, but all those circuits are a bit mid-scooped, the BF circuit being most mid scooped. I am guessing the Bluesbaby has Bassman-values, allowing the BF-switch to scoop the mids even more. But basically a Fender-tonestack.

Little Jay just wrote me on YouTube that, regarding the tracks on his quartet's EP (see his signature):

Hey Little Jay, I dig your new EP. Good grooves, good playin'. Hip Jazz A Go Go...for real!

Award-session pointed me to this document that explains why amps sound fatter at high volume levels, interesting read. As far as I understand the BB45 wouldn't necessarily sounds thinner on low volume compared to the BB22, but I may very well be wrong.

You can get a decent jazz sound, but you can get any type of rock sound you'd need.
Expensive though, they wanted $1,119 for it.

Indeed, these amps have cool features, sound great but are not cheap. In EUR they quickly get above 1,110. I've therefore opted for another model, the Award-Session BluesBaby(45). Great tone too, simpler but also half the price - and you get choose the speaker, they have four available (V-type, A-type, Classic Lead 80 and Century Vintage).

I've had a Micropro 8" Mach 2 for about 8 months or so. I love it. So many tones, so much volume, so little weight. Haven't had a gig where it came anywhere near to maxing out. Eventually I'd like to get the 12" extension cab for it not because the volume it lacking but for outdoor gigs or loud non-PA gigs it would be nice to have the sound spread out a bit. Plus it looks cool.

Even my AI Coda and RS10 can't make it on outside gigs with a big band when I have a solo feature. They finally miked the RS, and I got comments from the band to the effect that, ' You can actually play that thing; I just thought you just sat there and strummed'.

I don't know much of anything about these except I have a new BCH that is ok as long as the volume is 4 or below. The boost and tone switch are absolutely horrible for my likes. After 4 it starts distorting and breaking up into a tone I absolutely hate. A 16 year old rocker may love it. I expect going on up to a 60w Artist or whatever you'd be looking at the same sounds....I have a Katana 100 that sounds pretty dang good and has plenty clean headroom for me, I just use the acoustic and clean channels.
I pre-ordered the Quilter SB US, I'll see whenever it gets here, but it's for home use only.
