Sorry, I'm referring to a used guitar. One of these:

Reverse wound middle pickup and a five way switch. No N+B in the stock config, but I had one and foolishly sold it years ago, and I would like to get another.

That's interesting. I had never heard of that mod. I would consider a re-wire, albiet with some hesitation, because it's a somewhat uncommon guitar - but I would like to know upfront that the N+B tone will be worth the effort.
I plan on trying to find a standard model at a local music store to try out.

I love my tele. At the moment, it is a stock Highway One from 2006 (I think). I have owned a couple over the years. There are a significant number of people who prefer a wider nut. I am one. I prefer 1 3/4, although some of my guitars have 1 11/16th. Additionally, I've come to feel more comfortable with a 25" scale and a flatter radius (this is even harder to come by for telecasters/ASATs than the 1 3/4" nut width).

I am ordering a custom replacement neck: 25" scale, 1 3/4 nut width, 12" radius, roasted maple with ebony board. It's not cheap, but it is less expensive than buying a new guitar, for those of us who already own a tele.

The plan is then to put in a Lollar CC or gold foil in the neck position.

I have a Warmoth 1 3/4" Tele neck with their standard shape and compound radius. It's superb, the most comfortable neck I have ever played.

Warmoth is an option for many, but they only do 25.5 or 24 3/4 scale.
