Grez reached out to me. He's not too far from where I live and has a guitar at a nearby store that I plan to check out. Thanks

I agree. I owned a beautiful blonde B-120 for a while. It was fantastic, but I ended up selling it because I couldn't quite handle the neck dimensions (25.5" scale with a 1 25/32" nut). If it had been a more standard neck, I would have kept it forever. The OP, however, seems to want a laminated spruce top, so a B-120 would not meet that requirement.

I was a "spruce" only fan...then I played a Tal Farlow...I was amazed! Good luck with your search.

Yeah, boy. The Matsumoku-made guitar that Conti is playing in that photo is an Aria Pro II PE-180. It's a copy of the Gibson Super V, but with a laminated spruce top instead of a carved spruce top. It's the "CES" version of the "Robert Conti" model, which was called the Aria Pro II PE-180. It featured the same guitar, but with a floating DeArmond 1100 Rhythm Chief in place of two set in Aria humbuckers. Both guitars are great.

Some day, I will track down and purchase a PE-190 Conti model.

Like the PE-190 Conti in my avatar you mean?

Hey, talk about a poor man's axe! That floater seems the real deal too...it was a toss up with a Gibson BJB pup...splitting hairs....and the BJB was on an acoustic Super Eagle.

What about some of the Peerless guitars?
They make some with spruce tops:

Yes, I have the Gigmaster Jazz, essentially a maple ES-175 that I really like.

They make good, solid instruments at reasonable prices.
