Recommendations for an acoustic archtop?

Any played one of the new
Epiphones with some fat strings
On yet ?
I'd like to like them but they sound
Too bright to me in demos....
They look so great tho
Heck nearly everything sounds too bright
To me !
I want an acoustic archtop to sound like
A stand-up Bass in the high register
I'm funny that way ....

I am NOT a fan of the acoustic tone of many of the Eastmans. Very nasal. But I think that's popular with folks, that how Benedettos sound to me too...

The Loars are something, but they're just not as consistent in quality as Eastman. The Loar 600 I owned for a while was one of the loudest archtops I've ever played. And it was only a 16" body!!!

And loud though my Loar LH 600 is it pales into insignificance compared to the terrifying might of the Altimira M01D.

If it's loud you want, a good Selmer style guitar will eat archtops for breakfast.
