The last few months I've been trying settle on a new ax. I own a 62' Guild X-175 a 79' Ibanez [335] but just felt there was just missing to bring out the very best in my playing- you know a ' forever guitar' I inadvertently popped into my local G.C. to return a Hendriksen amp I bought when a salesman called my attention to a Fender Tele they just got in and were all raving about. It was on the showroom floor and to be honest I didn't pay it any attention since that's not where my normal interest lies. I though it unusual however that it was price at $2800; considerable high for a Tele. Since I was biding time while the salesclerk issued a refund, I picked it up and immediately transported back to a friend's 1956 Tele that I had played years ago and absolutely loved for it's playability. He would always remark about how he loved this guitar for the neck. I thought:' I can't let this guitar get away'. I have done this in the past only to live with regrets. I don't think I will regret owning this guitar. It has been the favorite go to instrument of many a player over the years including jazz aficionado Ted Greene and others. I thought you might enjoy hearing my story.

Welcome to the Tele universe. It is a good story, but Palomorado is right...we need details and pictures, or it didn't happen!

I'll send over on Monday. I have an interested story too about the 1956 Tele my friend still owns. As Tele lovers you might find it to be, though sad, with an important take away lesson. I would appreciate any comments pro or con regarding the purchase aside from the price.

I went to the dallas guitar show and came away with this Larose brand tele style. Model is Hollow Boy Jr, sassafras body with Argentinian Sandalwood top and roasted maple neck. Lollar Staple P90s. I have a more traditional Anderson Tele. This one I put heavy flats on to do the jazz Tele thing and I'm really enjoying the tonal options.
