I used to and I loved them. I sold them when I went to modeling and often wish I had kept one. I was actually just looking at a couple of them on-line yesterday and I'm pretty seriously considering one. Kind of a Princeton Reverb sound (minus the verb) but a bit less scooped in the mids and not as boxy (at least in part because of the 12" speaker). Lots of volume for a 12 watt amp and between the fat switch and the single tone control, it gives more than enough tonal control to be useful.

Here's something cool that I found for you: John Stowell at my old house in Portland playing one of our guitars through my old Port City Twelve.

John - genius! So hard working, great human being. Always a treat, always mystifying.

I've played restaurant gigs with mine. Sounds great, portable. No verb, I prefer the feel of the amp without a reverb pedal. I did have a little feedback with my L4 occasionally.

Jim, the clip with John Stowell sounds great!

a couple questions, anyone tried to play it other than solo, e.g. duet/trio at moderate levels?

anyone found the Tone control limited?

    Hi Jim,

It sound's really good and playing too, but how dynamic you think it is ( meaning how it reacts right hand touch )?

Very much like a black face Fender of similar power, which to me means exceptionally well. I'm a great fan of the basic 12 watt 2 x 6V6 blackface amps.

That's the one that was on Reverb. I was seriously considering it but I guess you beat me to it.
