OK, it falls to me to ask the first, most obvious question: why would you only want to amplify two strings?
-
Ah. Bass 8ve. Got it.
-
oi fink if it ain't cheap i'd bloody rather go for a GK pikop'.
can do even more ...
-
There was another exactly like it discussed last year right ? But that was for electric ?... I think Jim Soloway posted it
edit; I found it, it is called "a little thunder" pickup and already into production. It is a PAF sized electric pickup and does exactly the same as this submarine . They have an adapter for acoustic guitar too

That is the worst attempt at an English accent I've ever seen (heard)

But....

Lol
This is what my accent sounds like
Gawd bless Stanly Holloway (Staahnlee Ollo-waay)
It's funny y'know, I have lived all over the UK and some accents are so thick you can't decypher what people are saying. Even though it's not widely taught any more we all fall into that 'Standard Queens English' accent somewhat like 'Monty' to make ourselves understood.
Language is not the only divide here, there's class and status.
I was at a party years back that was hosted by old pal that was getting established as an opera singer. The party was choc full of Thesbians, Lesbians, Gentry and Investors. So there I am, part time musician and full time builder meeting the luvvies and lounge lizards when someone asks 'And you are?' to which my old pal introduces me as 'Roy, he works with his hands'.
Or on one job in Kensington being asked not to use the street door but to come in via the 'Tradesmans entrance'.
Oh dear. Sometimes I wish I were Australian.
-
and it all started with "Whaddya fink?" and the submarine pikop' sank ...
... i loike how this gent says " pikop' " (... what !? He's Australian you say ?!)
no offense was intended of course, cockney accent (don't know the rest) is music to my ears and reminds me my teenage years listening to anything from Dr Feelgood to the Members to the Stranglers to the Clash etc...Last edited by xuoham; 07-13-2015 at 08:10 AM.

I'm another who doesn't get the point.

Here's some details. Maybe it's a similar idea to this.

No offence taken Mr X. It's all quite funny and we all take the rise out of each other here in Britain.

The guy in the video you posted is from the north west of England. They pronounce U as 'oo' in Pick-oop.
Southerners (anyone born south of Watford) pronounce U as 'ah' in Pick-ahp.
Confusion reighns as Standard Queens English would pronounce U as 'uh' in Pick-uhp.
So my son is 5 years old and picking up words left, right and centre. My wife is a northerner and I'm from the south so he has a mixed pronounciation of common words.
Anyways, I get back from work to be told off by me wife about swearing in front of me boy and that he used the F word.
To which I replied how did he say it? As the southern fak or the northern fook?
My wife blushed and said 'Oh dear, I really must stop swearing when I'm driving our son to school.'

Maybe the most obvious use is to have the 5th and 6th strings doubled an octave lower (with an octaver or pitch shifter).
If it's cheap it might have some users but if not, you could as well buy a GK pickup and a used Roland virtual guitar unit (VG**, GP10 or the latest SY300), and do this and much more.
I bought years ago a GK pickup and a VG-99, it's great, can do a lot of stuff ... that you probably don't need, unless you want to somehow walk the Adrian Belew way.
I sold it a year after, craving for simplicity, and discovered the joys of down tuning the 6th string (down to lower A) and sometimes the 5th string as well.
It left me with a serious gas for a guitar like Charlie Hunter is using :
.... but after all i guess i just love 6 strings guitar and its limits.

The submarine cant be sold in the USA because it is an infringement to the patent of the A.L.T. pickup already on the market there. They can only sell it Europe as the ALT company didnt have the idea patented worldwide. Kinda strange, starting a kickstarter company , one year after another kickstarter company has already succesfully launched a very similar product

Yes, I've got a couple of CDs by him. I really like the one with Stefon Harris on vibes (Return of the Candyman) although I think it's out of print now (I got a used copy).

The idea is that you can play bass and lead. The video below is a nice demo of it.
I would imagine you'd have to play through a bass amp at any stage volume.
With drum machines, another step by guitarist to get rid of as much of the band as possible.
