for $100, you can get her a Squire Strat or Daisy Rock or Epiphone LP, go for it.

yeah, squire classic vibe tele, just got a new one for $320, tried to buy one used forever but could never get to the seller fast enough before it sold. It's a crazy good guitar.

I was at an open mic once and I saw a young lady walk up to perform. On the way up she hit her guitar on two chairs and came very close to clobbering a patron on the back of the head.
I was standing at the back of the room. I turned to a friend and said I bet she has not played at many open mics. Just does not know how to handle a guitar in a crowded room.
As soon as she gets to the mic she says: "This is my first time performing at an open mic."
I still remember a friend telling me he let a young relative use a vintage Les Paul. The relative did him a favor and gave it a new custom spray paint job.

I picked up a Squier VM Jaguar with the Duncan Designed pickups and it worked wonderfully for what I needed it for.
I'd recommend that route over letting someone (daughter or not) start to handle items they may not have a full appreciation for. In time, teach her that appreciation and then maybe let her use your nicer stuff.
