Rob, I got one of these from US ebay, apparently its like the one fitted to Jim Campilongos signature telcaster. Its fitted to my esquire and is basically a Fender plate with part of the edges ground off. Works fine, but I can't honestly say I 'use' the extra cutaway part for picking a la Campilongo really! I've got another stock tele plate that I drilled for strings along the back panel to try out the sound without the 'through-body' stringing. It worked but I prefer the stock job, -Leo got it right first time IMO!
Doh! Forgot to include the photo but I think you get the idea.
Campilongo and all the other cool kids use toploaders.
Heres's one I found in my junkbox, with chromed steel saddles, but one could just as easily use brass, titanium or unobtanium.
Notice anything missing?

That feels a lot like some of the Barry Harris stuff. When you do that do you start at the root at each chord change or do you just start with the next closest note?
I met Joe back at the 5 Town's Guitar show on LI back in the early 1990's. He was very down to earth and a wonderful to talk to. I will never forget that, and he was just walking around like many. He...
Nice! I agree about staying close to the melody. Quite refreshing.
And I enjoyed how your ad-lib phrasing breathes. Very natural.
The setup works well. Can you tell us about the backing track?
Hi y'all,
Am headed to Paris and in a few weeks and would love some recommendations from the community. I've posted elsewhere on the forum about my quest for a 1939-1941 Gibson Super 400P so...
Ha. Just had a flashback. When I was learning jazz, nobody really used tabs much... TAB was a piece of paper that we'd use to administer LSD.
Forget the chord patterns. Give me a tab of acid...and...
Thats not what we’re talking about.
The sharp or flat follows the direction of the line ** when there is ambiguity about which you should use.
So if you’re in D major, you’ll call it F# and C#...
Thank you, Steve and Deacon Mark, for outside advice and help. Guitars are now CC stored in Chicago--8 shipped from FL; 7 coming along for the ride. UPS came through without a hitch, far less...
Am I understanding this right? With respect to using sharps or flats, it looks like one system with nested reversing exceptions in collision with a simultaneous second independent system of...
Interesting-what sort of status was Reverb working under when they were not charging taxes? Taxes set in state by state, as I recall, and for at least 3-4 years I was purchasing without any tax in FL.
No they will need to do that anyway as an online marketplace. This is done purely as a regulatory requirement. If etsy (or amazon) could remove the requirement, they would.
This is obviously a sample size of 1, but I recently purchased a guitar that had some serious undisclosed issues. The seller didn't want to take it back (shocking, I know!) and Reverb ended up taking...
