    Hi 2Born,
Thanks for the mega congrats on this mega body guitar! I must insist that you (and Patrick) share a portion of the credit/blame for this acquisition of mine, as were it not for your many previous posts on the Super Eagle/Super KB topic, I may not have traveled this road. This will end my guitar "churning" for some time (I hope)!
I would appreciate if you would add to this thread, a photo of your current Heritage guitars, which I think still include a Super Eagle & Golden Eagle? Be great if Patrick would add a photo too, as this stuff is my crack cocaine! Jeff

I'm having a hard time grasping the 5th picture's perspective. Duh. What is it?

    Hi,
Spruce is graded on (among other criteria) growth lines per inch. It takes an old growth tree to obtain a premium high grade spruce top (A walk in the HOH rainforest is a wonder to behold, I might add).
I was attempting to show a close up perspective of that, with the caliper in the photo set to 1.000". I accept that I'm a bit of a geek. A decent figure is >20 LPI. Bob Benedetto, in his Archtop book says 20-22 LPI evenly spaced is ideal. Although more LPI won't necessarily mean better sound, it does look impressive at times. Best wishes, Jeff

Don't keep those of us with bad eyes in suspense. How many LPI were there?

Ah now I see, thanks. At first it looked like one of those tricky optical illusion photos to me.

Edit: You even showed the headstock with no provocation from yours truly The Kenny Burrell signature enhances its streamlined appearance. A friendly wind-up from a Gibson nutjob. Hope there exists at least one Heritage owner who has a sense of humour. Your dawg is ugly, in a good E-nglish Bulldog-like way. I don't know pretty but I sure do know ugly...in an appealing way. Like the definition of "cute". That's all I'm sayin'. I gotta explain myself lest the whole posse of thin-skinned Heritage owners come down hard on me like a ton of bricks or a posse of something. By the way, it is not ugly but you know what I mean.

I had to laugh at this. An absolutely perfect text book example of passive aggression couched in humour. Nice job.

Congratulations Helios. For a beautiful guitar (head included) and for having solved the humming problem. I noticed in the video a TOM bridge installed. I like it.The sound of this SKB is gorgeous. The perfect blend between electronics and wood. Thanks for posting the pics and video of this beauty and enjoy it!

    Woah 2Born,
I feel like Kate Beckinsale just walked into my room with a few of her gorgeous friends!
Can you shed some light on the instrument is the last photo? Jeff

Good eyes gcb, as my hand is covering it most of the time! I had a German made Faber ABR-1 in my supplies, so I put it on. It's real sung and doesn't wobble around, plus the intonation is great now (nothing really wrong with the wood bridge however).

My only criticism with the the workmanship, is the the high-E nut slot is cut over the neck binding! I noticed this because my finger slipped off of the high-E string a couple of times when playing on the lower frets. The nut can be moved slightly toward the low-E at some point, as there is a small amount of space between the low-E and the neck binding. I'm a little surprised it got through QC process at Heritage, unnoticed. Jeff

Standard SKB with a Heritage #3 floater in standard Heritage ASB. I owned a GE in the same shading, although not at the same time. SKB's, SE's, are loads of fun...it's a shame they're not better known...although I'm happy they aren't as a lack of knowledge keeps their prices down on the used market.

I noticed some nice guitars in a (old?) showroom photo of Wolfe guitars in Florida. Among others, there is a blonde single pickup Super KB on the back wall:
