DG is on the money but I only go to the next tuner to cut. Going down the rabbit hole is the key. Never a a problem.

Certainly it's just the 6th string that is too fat, no?

    Thanks!

I will actually go as many as 4 pegs for the unwound 3rd string. I only use string trees on the E and B strings. I like the huge bends you can get behind the nut on an unwound G. If you put enough windings on the tuner it will create just enough break angle to keep the string nicely in the nut slot.

I've put DA Chome 12's on my tele before. I "spread" the split on the low E tuner, but frankly I wouldn't recommend doing that. Too easy to break the tuner. Instead, just wrap the low E string like normal.

I just put staggered locking tuners on my tele. I have no clue as to why i waited so long.

The Fender brand install easy, accomodate a set of 12's no prob, stay in tune well and make string change a breeze.

Locking tuners will soon be on every guitar I own.

Mr B, that is exactly what I am putting on my 2 project Tele's, and will soon have them on my Strats as well. I got weird looks when I said I was putting locking tuners on a jazz Tele, but string changing should be that easy.
