In my Tributary: a couple 6L6, and an EF806 in the preamp. The speaker is a Jensen Vintage Alnico P12N No Bell.

I was first looking to buy a VS112-JZ, but after many emails back and forth between Mike and I, I ended up buying the Sequel, and I am really happy about my choice.

Here's a couple more pics Mike sent me:
There was also another pic of Howard Alden trying out a few amps at soundisland, among which the Ravine and the JZ. That pic is in another computer; I may post it if I remember.

I haven't played these but I have enjoyed reading about them on Michael's Sound Island site. I can say that I have purchased an amp from Michael in the past and he's great to work with. Very well informed and basically running a small business as a 'labor of love', as it were.

I ended up going with the Tribute model after many emails and a few phone calls to Michael. I'll be sure to post some pictures and comments as soon as it arrives. I wish there were more Sequel amp owners out there to chime in with reviews and comparisons. I should have mine in a few weeks!

Haven't tried the Sequel but play my 1953 Gibson GA-30 daily. 6V6s with octal preamp tubes. Using DeArmond equipped archtops I get very convincing old tones. Still able to get these amps for a deal even if you need to get the filter caps replaced.
