I find that when I play at home the finger squeaks bother me(I practice at low volume with my amps), but playing with other instruments and playing live it isn't a problem. I like having bright low strings for comping live, less muddy with my guitar so I like TI Bebop's.
But at home TI Swings(flats) are great, seems to give me more freedom on the fretboard since position shifts are noiseless... But my guitar is also really bright(Ibanez FG-100). Something I like about all TI's is string balance, I find them really even. Don't have to compensate my picking technique when playing on the lower strings. I tried the John Pearse rounds and like the sound, but didn't like the balance in their sets. I think Peter Bernstein creates his own sets, buying strings in bulk, maybe to get that balance...?!?

Hmmm....I am leaning towards flatwounds.

I have two ES175s, one strung with Daddario Chrome 12's, and the other with Daddario round 12's.
i like the flats for the traditional jazz tone on songs, but also the bite of the rounds on jazz blues or such.
today, I'm enjoying the harmonics and resonance of the rounds.
i for one am not that high on TIs.

Has anyone tried these strings?
D'Addario Strings : XL Half Rounds : EHR360 Half Rounds, Jazz Medium, 13-56

I used D'Addarios until I tried TI Jazz Flat 12s; now I have them on everything and never looked back. I have them on my 7 string but the 7th is wound and the squeak drives me crazy. You don't hear really hear it amped, though.

That's what I'm using now on my archtops. An Epi joe pass and a thorell FV. Sounds great, and no squeaks. I use a combination acoustic and magnetic pickup so the squeaks come through at any volume. The half rounds are a happy medium. The rubery feel goes away after a couple of days for me.
