I don't understand what people joke about these guitars.

Idiots... Alas, they're the ones who need a 'guitar-4-hire'.

I had watched Tommy Tedesco's "Playing Guitar for a Living". I guess times are even worse now.

The worst part is that I'm not an extraordinary player in any way, I'm just a somewhat lesser of many evils. Where did all the musicians go?

    Great playing!

    That Coronado sounds pretty good.

    Update:

So I played the Starcaster some and it felt really, really off. I took it to my tech at 4Sound, who said it was beyond repair, as the bridge had been placed incorrectly from the factory. It's been sent to Sweden to be replaced, I.E, a brand new guitar

I'm not really happy about it because this was my first ever brand new "brand-name" guitar, and it's now been shipped off to be scrapped.

    That's an unfortunate first experience.

I was gifted a 1979 Fender Starcaster 25th anniversary (serial number 257488.) I have searched high & low for ANY info on this instrument but found nothing. Not an article nor picture, not even a mention. I know it's a lowly Starcaster but, come on. Would anyone know how I can find out more on this guitar? Any help would be kindly appreciated.

Funny that this thread should be resurrected...! I ask that all you lovely members please disregard my bloated teenage ego in this old thread, as well as my endless financial complaints The "studio gigs" I kept bringing up were pretty much just playing on friends' "demos" and while money certainly was tight, there was no point in putting it all out there.

Also, I didn't "have" a '69 Thinline. My dad has one that he'd let me try if I asked.

The internet is a wonderful thing, but it has a distinct downside: For us younger guys, being a snotty pubescent teenager is now on record.

Hahaha love this! I appreciate your sincere ‘confession’! Well, if we were to judge people on what they post on forums (or worse: their Insta accont) we’d all be billionaires visting nice places all the time, with gorgeous sun-tanned bodies living full interesting and adventurous lives….

I just came back from a festival gig. Sounds great until I tell you the weather was absolutely horrible and we played for maybe 30 people and about 50 meters further they played Abba at a volume that was almost louder than our performance…. Exaggeration is part of the internet….

I have a Squier classic vibe Starcaster. I was planning on getting an Ibanez semi, but the Starcaster turned up and was a nicer guitar and a good deal. I like it, as a long term acoustic player recently playing Judas. As many have said, if a guitar feels right for you, then you can make it sound like anything x
