BS. It's his same design he narrowed for this guitar. Critics.

I reached for it (foolishly) with my left hand. Couldn't play guitar for 2 weeks.

My comment was in response to the OP's comment "I wonder what kind of bracing he used?". That was the last sentence in the OP.

    Here's Jake.

He looking at me with that . . "OK ass-hole. You wanna try to take my ball away from me again??" . .kinda look.

Jake looks pensive. This is Chloe, not a pit bull, but my Bull Terrier that loves her treats. Not a wise idea to mess with her stash of toys either, at risk of losing a digit!

Lovely "Campy". And to the "biker speak"-they also produced wheels for Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, etc. An Italian icon.

Thank you, I will tell Chloe she has a fan. She is a wonderful companion.
OP stated that his wife and dog love his playing, and I have to agree that is the best state of affairs. My wife encouraged me to get my Benedetto (after she found out I was buying that instead of a new car). Well, she also gets a share of the gig money too. And Chloe is my practice buddy, she just curls up under my music stand and goes to sleep. A great comfort.
Here's my support team on a recent hike. And congrats on the Campy. Campellone Standard-domechloe-jpg I've never played one that was a dog!

You basically are just paying for the ornamentation and time it takes to add it. Also I've found that many times plainer carved solid tops and maple backs and sides can actually sound better than their fancy counter parts.
True. I asked MC about the bracing and he mentioned that he gave up doing X's some time ago, suggesting that - in his opinion - there wasn't a noticeable difference in the sound to him. He also mentioned the same thing about Standard versus higher end models - the tonewood is different but really apart from the bells and whistles the sound is pretty much the same.

I've got a Deluxe and a 18' non cut Standard and they are both fine. The 18' is a beast and really sounds nice without amplification. Amped at the right volume, it's killer.

I notice too much between guitars - even between the two Campys I have - to say they are on par with Gibson (Gruhn said at one point MC was building archtops that rivaled 50s' era Gibsons) but I think they are certainly up there.
