I think the tone capsule idea is the stupidest snake oil you just bought an amp from us now give us more money idea i've ever heard.
I predict it will be a hit.

A Kenny Burrell or Wes Mo tone capsule would work for me.

How about the amp in head form? I'd rather have that.

Based on the sounds in the Chuck lobe video, I think you can probably do that with no module, just the basic amp. As for the Eric Johnson module, I'd suggest that everyone listen to the Eric Johnson video rather than Mitch from Sweetwater. It's just Johnson playing solo guitar and I think he sounds fantastic.

Sorry but I think it's the same old amp in a new package.

I have no idea what kind of "jazz" you're playing but if your 15 watt tube amp can barely keep up than I'd have a look at getting it serviced. I know a guy who plays in a 4 piece cover band with drums, bass and keyboards and he uses a 15 watt Blues Junior and it's certainly loud enough onstage.

I too have had old and modern cubes and the older ones are good but not as good as the more modern. I susspect this trajectory will continue with the Blues Cube.
From what i've heard of the cleans, they sound very good. Better than my more modern Cube 60 which was a good amp.

Keep in mind that for the jazz tones in the Loeb video a special switch on Chucks guitar was utilized to affect the tone. My question is how high can the volume go on the clean channel before it starts to break up?

I waiting for the Link Wray tone capsule. ;-)

I preferred the layout of the older BC-60, but the attenuator control on the new one is a nice addition.

I streamed it to my tv and I'm watching it now. It sounds pretty good to me. To my previous question of clean headroom, Eric mentioned specifically that "the clean tone when you turn it up has a nice dirty rhythm tone too". I can see a use for that, but for me I want to be able to keep the clean channel clean at almost any volume. Perhaps that will be accomplished with a different tone capsule? Time will tell, but overall it sounds promising.

More Blues Cube videos. The Paul Glover (first) one is maybe one of the best amp demos I've seen. He really covers a huge range of sounds, single coil, HB's, single notes, and chords. Second clip compares to a FBD but they are set too different to tell how they compare. It's all on a Strat and not too much clean but it still sounds good. I continued to be impressed with demos and ordered the Stage version for $560. I'll let you know if it lives up to the hype.

Would very much like to read your review. These caught my eye when they were announced. They seem very flexible and usable however I wasn't as a jazz player it made sense to spend the extra money over the normal cube 80gx. I ended up buying an 80gx for that reason and also because they weren't going to be out for 6 months but now that they are available I'd love to see some impressions.

I will for sure. I'm starting to suspect that these don't stay very clean when you start upping the volume unless some of the demos were trying to get some overdrive in the clean. So I'm not sure how well they will work as a gigging amp. Just a feeling, no evidence. If anyone has occasional contact with Chuck Loeb it would be interesting to hear if he is able to get good volume out of them.
