Does anyone knows where to get one (vintage or new) in Europe at a decent price? Thanks!

You might check with Hans Moust
    Guitars Galore

If you can't find one in Europe, try Ken Nash
    Westerly Guild Parts

    Good luck!

I believe the hinged Guild harp tailpieces were made by ABM in Germany.
Guild used all sorts of German parts for years - tuners, bridges and tailpieces.
A guitar repairshop could probably get them to send one to their shop for repair purposes.

    Mail sent to Hans.

Ken's prices are impossible to me (with shipping, fees and vat...)

    Thanks a lot!

My X-500 came with a bigsby which was replaced with a benedetto tailpiece. For quite some reasons I am returning to a brass tailpiece, maybe ebony covered. If I could find a guild harp one it would be brilliant, otherwise I'll just go with a regular one!

I will probably buy the one from the US. Yes I know its expensive but I have friend out there, that could help. Although If I could source one cheaper i would.

Unfortunately the tail piece on mine was pretty naff, at least its kind of a 'Harp' lol
If you have any better luck, please let me know.

I also have a friend in the US but he's only coming in the end of Septembet and I want to solve this quickly...

It actually looks nice. Mine is SO heavily modded that having a regular harp tailpiece won't probably make much of a difference...

If I find a solution I will let you know of course!

Its funny isn't it, that Guild seems to be one of the few Archtops makers that cross over really well for Rocker-billy players who normally like Grestch.

    But I wish they didn't use Bigsby's.

Mine too had a bigsby as well as locking tuners added.

Yeah I get you... in my case I had no choice - a 1965 archtop in Portugal it's once in a lifetime. I changed so many things on the guitar (tuners, knobs, bridge, tailpiece, finish, neck angle, pickups, electronics) I no longer care... in the end it's one my favorite archtops ever, which is what matters I guess.

Couldn't agree more, you should see some of the battle scars as well as mods mine has picked up. The great thing about it though, is that for all the changes and damage, it plays perfectly and is my fav archtop and I've had nearly 35 lol Something about not having to baby a 'Mint' makes it easier to bond with and enjoy.

I'd try and contact the new Guild owner Cordoba Music. Maybe give them some time to get started but who knows, they may sell the harp as a spare part once they've got their business going. The X-500 and X-700 deserve that real harp tailpiece!

Ray ban and loose "4-in-the-hand" in the woods = super badass

I'de want those guild knobs though. Something about a 'dressed up' Guild is very tasty. nThey did make them look Gooooood

Hey Jorge! What is it about the Benedetto that rubs you the wrong way?

Personally, I don't care for the Benedetto, or any ebony tailpiece that isn't solid wood, or that routes the strings over the top of the tailpiece, rather than through the top edge of the tailpiece. My former solid ebony Buscarino tailpiece routed the strings through the top of the tailpiece...the tailpiece has a heavy duty hinged bottom plate.

If I encounter a harp I'll give you a shout.

Hi greg! It sounds a little too acoustic... my luthier said that with a metal one (even if covered in ebony) I can get more sustain, which would be great! I can get a regular tailpiece but if I found an harp one for a good price...

I have one in near mint condition-I'll be happy to sell it to you, however it would require you purchasing the 92 Artist Award that it is attached to:

    Such a deal!!
